I am so grateful to be sober today. I’m grateful for my mom and her birthday, the perfect pumpkin I picked, a weekend full of friends, coffee, the sun dripping into the apartment, candles and trips to Barnes & Noble. I’m grateful for a job that I love, a few minutes of extra sleep and for my relationship with HP.
Good morning my friends!
As always, I hope everyone had a lovely weekend - whatever a lovely weekend looks like for you :)
Today is special because it’s my mom's birthday!! Happy birthday mommy, thank you for always reading, loving and supporting.
Outside of celebrating my mom I don’t have anything new to share. It’s been the same stuff it has been for weeks, I have adapted my morning routine but I don’t really like it, so I’m working on changing it. I am sitting on some mean resentments that I need to talk to my sponsor about, I am so much happier where I am today but I am still a little overwhelmed and a whole bunch of other emotions that I don’t even really have the energy to describe right now.
SO, I’m not sure if anyone actually liked the Las Vegas version of this but I personally, had a lot of fun with it…over the weekend we went apple picking so here is a little photo montage:
When we were kids we used to go apple picking every year my family and I and my mom would take the apples we picked and make apple sauce for Thanksgiving. Because of that, apple picking is a Fall staple to me and yesterday, the second we left the city we entered brown, orange, red leaves, crisp air and these sweet cows up in the mountains with us.
I can’t speak for my friends but at least for me, I felt like a little kid again for a few hours…
…and of course I could not resit this little ghostie and some farmers market strawberry jelly and pepper jelly!
On the hunt for a pumpkin.
Found the perfect pumpkin that I proceeded to carry the rest of our trip because stubbornness is my strongest character defect.
Too short to pick those apples…
Naturally made friends with the sheep…
And said goodbye from the mountains on the way home…a little different from the mountains out West ehh? ;)
xx
