The Easter Bunny and the World Collapsing
Daily Gratitude List - April 10th, 2023
I am so grateful to be sober today. I’m grateful for time spent with family, for quick drives past the beach and for my sponsor. I’m grateful for a sunny morning, for the trees and flowers starting to bloom again and for my new spider plant. I’m grateful to have hope and for HP.
Good morning, friends :)
As always, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is feeling ready to tackle the week ahead!
I may or may not have overslept this morning and am personally feeling a little stressed about today never mind the rest of the week…
Over the weekend, I did my fifth step with my sponsor, read her all 52 resentments, my fear and sex inventory and was feeling pretty good but also exhausted. When I woke up on Sunday, I think I was expecting everything I told her about to be lifted? Clean slate, hand, and hand with your creator, feeling super sober?
That unfortunately did not happen, and I needed both my sponsor and Timmy to remind me that that is what steps 6 and 7 are for.
On Sunday Timmy and I went down to New Jersey to visit my family and celebrate Easter. Which was wonderful and I am so grateful we got to spend time with family.
I am, however, just overall exhausted. My emotions are a little all over the place and I am really annoyed the I overslept. That means, my whole little morning routine gets thrown off and my journals will likely be sacrificed.
But hey you know what, that’s okay. My body clearly needed the sleep. I can do my journals when I get home tonight. My emotions will level back out as they always do. We had a wonderful time on Sunday, and I am one step closer to finishing all the steps.
So, everything is pretty okay and the world isn’t going to collapse.
With that, I hope everyone has a fantastic week and Godspeed to anyone else who overslept this morning ;)
xx

I had a lie-in today but over here it's a public holiday, so kind of expected! Sounds as if you needed to sleep, which makes today's oversleeping a GOOD thing! And it's kind of refreshing sometimes for journalling to happen at a different time of day to normal - I chop and change with my own timings for such things, and it's always a power for good. 😊
This weekend was the opposite for me - not sleeping long enough - we had to do quite a bit of errands both Saturday and Sunday, so my daughter and I are pretty exhausted now - but grateful to have gotten all of things that needed to be done, finished and completed. Blessings and have a great week
