Listen now | Breakfast with Joanna--a lawyer, a mother, a horse-lover and a recovering alcoholic about to celebrate two years of sobriety! We talk about relapses, lying to yourself and snowball fights with Warren Zevon.
I am the mother of a former alcoholic who committed suicide in 2016, I am the daughter of alcoholic parents #3 of 6 siblings all split up by dysfunctional system that warehoused us. As adult was drawn to alcoholics wanting to “save” them and entangled with drinking off and on. This discovery of the podcast has been comforting to me and given me more awareness of the deep issues each alcoholic has. Hearing the struggles, strength, healing, relapse, recovery is very meaningful. Thank all who share and the developers of this 🙏🌈🦋🏅
I'm so sorry for your loss and thank you for the kind words and for sharing that. I started this because I thought a light-hearted approach might make it easier to talk about some of the hard things. It really means a lot to me that you're here and that you like this!
hoping that you both could join this webinar entitled "The Sobering Truth about Addiction in the Legal Profession" and then maybe give me your thoughts
“I had a problem being honest with myself” !!!!!!
This is great, thanks for posting and thanks for the honesty.
I do think being an alcoholic requires a fairly significant talent for self-delusion.
