I am so grateful to be sober today. I am grateful for two really great meetings yesterday and time with friends. I’m grateful for the small things that get me excited like a new planner and for another orchid bud blooming. I’m grateful for discovering new things about myself and for productive conversations.
Good morning my friends :) I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and is ready to tackle the week ahead. For reference, I am not ready to tackle the week ahead and would love to know how two week’s off from work goes so fast…
Last week I wrote about loosing my fire (Sober Girls Edition: Consequences in case you missed it ;) ) and ever since then I’ve been thinking a lot about the things I am passionate about, what lights that fire.
First and foremost, I love to take photos. I have always loved to take photos. I am also very blessed to have discovered in sobriety that I love to write. I get so much joy out of being here with those who read this. It's more that just a post every Monday and Thursday to me, we have a community here and I look forward to sharing experiences here with you in an unfiltered and real way.
I also love to read. If I could fill the apartment with books, and make it look like a library in here I would be a very happy girl let me tell yah (I don’t think my boyfriend would align with said library but a girl can dream).
My point is, I have spent so much time trying to figure out the things that make me happy now that I am sober, the things the relight the fire, and those things have really be here all along.
And, those things can evolve and change over time. I’m finally getting onboard with that too. That nothing has to be set in stone and all I need is a little flexibility sometimes.
So, my hope for you all this week is that you find something, even if it’s small, that makes you happy. That relights, or strengthens that fire inside of you. And, that you have a lovely week :) I’ll see you again on Thursday!
With so much love,
Jane
Reading words makes me happy, Jane. Including yours. Great post!
