I’m grateful for gray clouds drifting past my window. I’m grateful for the cup of coffee on my desk. I’m grateful for all of the “2’s” in the date today. I’m grateful there was a path out for me. I’m grateful for the inspiring displays of courage by newcomers at AA meetings. I’m grateful for yoga and the gym. I’m grateful for knowing that things will work out. I’m grateful for patience and faith and trust. I’m grateful for 32 months of sobriety and grateful to be sober today.
Happy Wednesday! Free time on your hands and not sure what to do with it? I have an idea1:
Lots of great stuff on the horizon, the Liner Notes for Episode 13 and then, this weekend a new episode of Breakfast with an Alcoholic and it’s going to be a special one—a “breakfast”2 with Chris Dangerfield, a fellow writer here on Substack. It was a pretty fascinating and funny conversation with some different perspectives on addiction, recovery and the philosophy of AA. There’s a link to his Substack page:
In the meantime, if you are enjoying this (you have read this far)3, maybe you should stop keeping it a secret and share it with your friends? Not a judgment, just a thought:
Thanks for Letting Me Share
This is from the BWAA Archives. The cost to listen? Zero.
Chris is in Cambodia and the BWAA budget does not currently include “Travel.”
Definitely not trying to apply additional pressure here, however, if you’re like me, you for sure know some people who could use a more gratitude-focused approach to life. You’d be helping them.
Hey Randall. That is very kind of you to link to my Substack. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation and will spread it all over the place when it's published. Actually listening to Chris H right now, great stuff.
