I’m grateful for Saturday morning, Mozart and the newspapers. I’m grateful for a baseball game with my son. I’m grateful that it’s still considered Father’s Day. I’m grateful for basketball in the park. I’m grateful for what I see when I really look. I’m grateful they have Lucky Charms right by the door at the Gristedes. I’m grateful to be sober today.
Happy, Happy Saturday, the best newspaper day of the week.1 As, I look at this picture, which I took recently, I’m struck that I’ve accidentally created an homage to one of my favorite paintings of New York. The first subscriber to correctly identify the accidental reference would win a prize in a perfect world. But, alas, the world is not perfect and that very knowledgable, sophisticated person would just need to be content with the knowledge that they were the first with the correct answer. Someone is going to win, why not you?
Hope you have a great weekend and to make sure you always have company at breakfast (It’s brand new!!):
If you were by some odd quirk, you were interested in exploring my strange passion for newspapers, it’s definitely connected to delivering the Des Moines Register at 5:30am as a youth.
I am grateful for breakfast with the family . I am grateful to be able to see my brother grown into a fine young man . I am grateful for birthday dinners . I am grateful for better money management . I am grateful for my cousins house in LI and her shady pool . I am grateful for puppies . I am grateful to be clean !
I love the newspaper too! I don’t read it anymore, but I have fond memories of it because my dad was a faithful subscriber to the Salt Lake Tribune. They’re digital only now. Sad/reasonable, haha.
