I’m grateful it’s not as hot this morning. I’m grateful for the chats when my daughter gets home from work. I’m grateful to get to write that sentence. I’m grateful for an excellent cup of coffee and a really soft breeze on the balcony. I’m grateful to see how fear and anger steered me way off the course and grateful to recognize that the answer to anger is understanding the fear. I’m grateful to be sober today.
That’s so beautiful! We are sorely lacking “the arts” where I live, but I am hopeful. I try to focus on other beautiful discoveries I can find on a walk “downtown” which is really the sum of the whole one-square-mile town. :)
Absolutely! There is cool stuff everywhere, it's just a matter of looking. What did Ferris Bueller say, "Keep your eyes open, you might miss something?"
I am grateful for early morning chats with my grandfather . I am grateful for silk robes . I am grateful for my niece staying for the summer . I am grateful for my canopy keeping these jacked up mosquitos from biting me . I am grateful for early birthday gifts . I am grateful for my soda stream . I am grateful for fresh lemons from mr mango . I am grateful to be clean .
Like you I am grateful every day to be sober! Without that I wouldn't have much else to be grateful for, or a living brain to be grateful with.
I am grateful that I don't live in New York City but I'm also grateful that I have lived in the Twin Cities Phoenix and Des Moines but wound up in Pierre South Dakota.
And I'm grateful that wherever I go there will always be a place where everybody knows my last name.
I love all of that and of course you are speaking to someone who grew up in Iowa City and had a distinguished newspaper-carrying career with the Des Moines Register.
Thank you! Mine was with the Omaha World-Herald before we moved to the Des Moines area. I traveled all over Iowa hanging sheetrock when work was slow in town and I remember one ride back from Iowa City laying on the back of a flatbed truck looking at the stars and pretending I was Kerouac traveling across Highway 6 and the first marijuana I ever smoked came from Iowa City. I didn't even know that was the purpose of the trip. I just got back from the next time zone with broccoli and yogurt I need to put them away but I do have further things I would like to share with you as looks like a lot of our interests overlap.
Our time zones overlap too so Fort Pierre run time Central Time instead of mountain time because so many people work in Pierre for the government
Please excuse any errors in this but I don't have time to reproof right now and this talk-to-text has a tendency to change things after it has had time to think about it a while

"What we create may save us." The art I make with my hands is a hopeful act of both faith and gratitude.
Isn't that a lovely thing?
I love a good poem in the morning!
