I’m grateful for a rainy morning. I’m grateful to not have to water the garden. I’m grateful for my sponsor and everyone who helps me find the path. I’m grateful for the apples not falling far from the tree. I’m grateful for changes and challenges. I’m grateful to be sober today.
I hope you’ve found time to listen to my breakfast with my intrepid Sponsor, Tommy:
I get to hear Tommy a lot and he has filled my head with a lot of good stuff and I’m very glad to get to share it with all of you. Another thing I’d like to share is this by Holly Rabalais:
I thought this was incredibly moving. Holly said some way-too-nice things in there, but that’s not why I sharing it. I’m sharing it because this is exactly what I was trying to say in “FM Radio and Pennies,” she just says it really perfectly. Like this, about being ready for the flash transmissions from God:
They happen in a brief moment and leave you with a feeling that what you’ve experienced came from God. If you’re not paying attention, not listening, not open to the possibility that the God of the Universe might show up in some unexpected way in your life, you’ll miss it.
Whispers to the Willing1
For some reason, it makes me think of this, which I know it shouldn’t:
I highly recommend Holly’s newsletter “Release and Gather.” I also recommend the eponymous newsletter by NBA great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.2
I’m already working on the Liner Notes and trying not have it feel like another homework assignment from my Sponsor. Hope you have a great day.
Thanks for Letting Me Share
Very much love the title.
I’m proud to say that I’ve now generated eight (8) subscriptions for the Captain. Also, since I linked to his newsletter, I know that Substack will send him a notice informing him of that fact. As long as you call “Bank” before you shoot, it’s ok. It’s also ok to call “Game,” like that one time Paul Pierce did that in the playoffs for the Wizards.
Hahahahaha! Yes! The Bueller clip is a perfect was to sum up Whispers to the Willing!
But seriously--thanks for the daily posts. I think another reader once called them a "touchpoint" in her day. Kind of like coffee.
