The more I think about it, Wile E. Coyote would be a brilliant choice as an AA mascot. He's developed a tremendously unhealthy obsession that has taken over his life, he's got a magnificent, alcoholic-sized ego that won't permit him to admit defeat and he possesses the unshakeable belief that things will be different this time.
