You are not alone! You have HP w you at all times. You have a whole AA army just a phone call away if you need anything. My standard response to the offer of alcohol is “I’m good right now”....if people press me I say have that problem where 1 turns into 20 and I wake up two days from now in a strange location without my left shoe or my wallet. (Humor, that usually does it.) my go to is water w a lemon or seven up, both look like a “drink” so people won’t ask. And really, most people don’t even notice I don’t drink. Lastly, there is the I’m starting to feel squirly, and I make a rapid exit. Everything is gonna be ok....Have fun!
Thank you, for sharing exactly what I thought once upon an early recovery time. It was never as awkward or dramatic as I fretted it might be. And sometimes those friends would pop up later in life with concerns about themselves, or a relative or friend and ask me about my experience. You may be their exposure to recovery.
Well put! Congratulations on maintaining your sobriety. It isn’t always easy,!
You can say a simple “no thank you”. They can’t see that your Higher Power is sitting right on your shoulder!

"And we never, ever, have to do anything alone.".
Such a key concept. And sometimes easy for me to forget. Thanks. And truly hope you enjoy the party.
