I’m grateful for another really great day here. I’m grateful to see my kids having fun. I’m grateful to be having fun. I’m grateful for seeing how easy things can be. I’m grateful for seeing the differences.I’m grateful to be sober today.
Wait, this is the last day of 2022? The whole year is over? Hmmmm, it seems like that went by pretty fast for an entire year. Well, the investigation into the time-speeding-up conspiracy will have to wait, because this alcoholic is headed to Paris. A great time has been had by all here in London, but some of us (one of us, actually) gets to keep the party going with a few more days in Paris. That itinerary is pretty full—-the obligatory trip to Shakespeare & Company, the Rodin Museum, maybe the Picasso Museum, the world’s best and most eccentric umbrella store and, of course, there may be some dining involved. Whew, but that’s kind of the feeling I’ve had all year.
2022 has been a pretty great year. For one thing, this alcoholic didn’t have a drink in calendar year 2022, so that’s always a good thing. A lot in my life has changed, and by a lot, I mean a lot. For one thing, this and almost all of you. One year ago, December 31, 2021, there were a grand total of six of you loyal subscribers (I think two of them may have been me). There are considerably more of you as of December 31, 2022, and I’m quite grateful for all of you. It’s a real privilege to get to write this, to be able to share my life with all of you. You may not have realized this, but you all helped keep me sober this year. Maybe it’s the Tom Sawyer approach to sobriety—-you all didn’t even know you were helping me out!! So, thanks for that.

Well, that was quite a week, if I do say so myself. Thanks for being along for the 2022 ride! Wishing you blessings, peace, love and general grooviness for 2023. Did I mention that I’m very grateful for all of you? I’m very grateful for all of you.
See you tomorrow in Paris!

I loveyour daily musings about a sober life. Many days the best part is your funny comments just above the subscribe button. Very clever and in my book, humor is a sign of sanity in a sometime nutty world. Thanks for the smiles.
Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us in 2022!
